Ascenders, a portfolio competition by the Type Directors Club, honors typographic excellence among designers under 35. In the debut edition, I collaborated with art director Paul Carlos to conceptualize ascension through variable typography. Leveraging Monotype's Avenir Next Variable, we crafted dynamic typographic compositions and animations that embodied the concept of elevation.
Website animation
The website animation was designed in After Effects. It was exported to html/json using a third-party plugin. It ensured that the letters retained their vector properties and could be rendered sharply at any resolution. A separate/responsive animation was designed for the mobile website and exported using the same plugin.
